Petros Hovaghimian 

Petros was born in Egypt, arriving in Australia 30 years ago, he has a long list of awards and achievements in the art world. He has BA in Fine Arts from East Sydney College and a Diploma in Visual Arts from UNSW.
He has been teaching since 1987 – preferred mediums watercolours, acrylics, pastels/charcoal, mixed media and collage.  He has won numerous prizes in these mediums and presented and organised exhibitions nationally and also in Greece & Armenia..  He is the Community Cultural Development Artist for Newtown and Marrickville “footpath project ” with Mosaics and art works on Marrickville Rd and Newtown square and Church St.  Petros has taught at TAFE colleges, art centres, primary schools and UNSW.
“My works are based on Journeys of Colours & Shapes. I enjoy the complexity, harmony and diversity of mark making, textures and colours. Equally drawing of the human form.”
