We have a group of members who meet at a designated spot to paint or sketch outdoors, or “en plein air”. The group is for any paint medium, sketching, or photography. There is not formal tutoring, and therefore no charge.
We meet on the 4th Wednesday of the month, on both Wednesday and Thursday depending on which is convenient to you, at 10am until 1 pm. Spots will be chosen based on the views or subjects available, availability of parking and whether there is a source of coffee and toilets nearby.
The spot for the current month will be announced as an Event on this website, and it will give the dates, the location and directions to find it.
Members planning to attend should make their own way there, with their own equipment and refreshments (or buy from local shops if they are nearby). The Event notice shows if there is any significant walking required, but this is avoided if possible.
If there is a change for any reason such as bad weather, the Event post will be updated with details of cancellation or other information, so best to check it on the day in case there is a change in plans.
We need to make sure that you can find the spots that we choose.
The obvious way is to use a street map or your knowledge so the spot will be identified using the usual street address.
But as well as this, the Event details will also quote two other smart phone location systems.
Google Plus code.
If you type this “plus” code into your search window on Google maps, it will show the spot where we will meet.
Try typing 74V3+MXM into the search window and it will direct you to Wallarobba, at 25 Edgeworth David Avenue, Hornsby.
This is a free app in both iPhone store and Play store.
By quoting just three words in the search field in the app, the location will be shown on the map.
Again, if you have the app, type in : reward.watch.films then the map will show the car park at Wallarobba.
