Plein air August – Hornsby Park Crusher Precinct

The spot originally chosen here was Kalkari, in Bobbin Head but we were at the park for July, and the new park in Hornsby has been suggested.

So this month is Hornsby Park, Crusher Precinct.

This is a flat grassed area, with parking and toilets. There is a lookout over the old quarry with views of Old Man’s Valley. The Crusher Park is overshadowed with the old crusher works giving lots of interesting views from the car park. For the more adventurous there are lots of walks down into the valley, with lots of steps and hills.

The park is in Quarry Road, Hornsby, which is off Dural Street. Turn into Dural Street off Peats Ferry Road in the middle of the shops on the old side, and Quarry Road is off on the right hand side just after the car parks and shops.
