A4 Art Australia 2024

National Exhibition

We would like to invite you and your fellow artists, members, and students (over 18) to participate in our 11th annual A4 Art Australia exhibition – showing from 2 March to 1 April 2024.

The exciting news is that the exhibition will be open to the public at the Herring Island Art Gallery for a period of 5 weekends including Labour Day 11 March, Good Friday, 29 March and Easter Monday, 1 April in 2024.

Each year this exhibition has grown and proven to be popular with the public, with high visitor numbers over the exhibition duration and many sales. This year we will again have an online ‘e-shop’ for artwork sales, making it even easier for art-lovers to buy your work! Artworks will be held by us and available for online sales after the end of the physical exhibition (1 April) and available online to purchase until the 30 June 2024. All unsold artworks will be returned after this time.

The exhibition is widely promoted with a downloadable e-invitation, advertisements in Art Almanac, and other publications, as well as public signboards and social media – FacebookInstagram & Twitter. This Annual Exhibition is popular with the public, and our 2022 exhibition had record artwork sales, selling over 220 individual artworks, or one in every 3.5 artworks on show selling! We also offer to post (2D artworks) anywhere in Australia for the catalogue price (unframed) This is also popular. Whilst we can’t guarantee everyone will sell, we try our best to assist in sales!

Portrait Group

We are considering starting a portraiture group for HAS members.

At this stage it would be one day a month, in Beatrice Taylor Hall and the suggestion is the Third Wednesday of the month, in the afternoon as it looks like this time is free. There will be charge for the hire and the model, but no tutor. Just discussion.

It depends on interest and ability to make the group, so we have a simple survey here to gauge numbers and collect feedback and suggestions.

The survey is now closed and the results are being considered.

We will advise on the decision and details soon.
