While we were on the Southern Highlands there was another favourite place to visit: The Milk Factory in Bowral. Located on the by-pass, at 33 Station Street, there is always something to see & this time was no exception. The Summer Exhibition is on show in the largest gallery, featuring a variety of works including landscapes & contemporary work as well as photography. There are four separate galleries here & the exhibition called ‘Natural Selection’ displays embroidered sculptures, hand cut paper art and felted art by three artists; Meredith Woolnough, Lisa Rodden & Rae Woolnough. Such intricate, colourful, delicate work. Adjacent to this display is another exhibition called ‘Contours’ featuring delicate tracery on beautiful blended colours with a mix of sea, forest & sunset themes, So clever you want to talk to the artist to find out how it was all done! There’s lots more to see here including ceramics, glass & photographic work. A lovely way to spend a day; two hours easy driving on the M2 and M7, lunch at Lake Alexandra in Mittagong, coffee & conversation with friends.
