Guest Speaker Programme for 2018

Our Programme Co-ordinator, Leonie has again been busy seeking out talent for our 2018 programme. Each month from February to November we invite an artist of high standing, many of whom are multi award winning artists to speak and demonstrate their craft. These sessions are usually held on the second Monday of the month in the Beatrice Taylor Hall at the rear of Wallarobba. We open the doors at 7pm for a cup of tea/coffee and a chat before the demonstration gets under way around 7:30pm. To assist viewing we have a camera trained on the easel and projected onto a large screen. There is free parking on site and we charge a small fee ($5.00 for members and $7.50 for Visitors – Children free). Bookings are not necessary.

In a departure from our usual practice, this year we will hold some of our demonstrations on Sunday afternoon. These will be held from 2pm at the same venue.

Out and about at other galleries

Gosford Regional Gallery

Really worth getting out and about to see the latest exhibition at Gosford Regional Gallery. Running from 9 December to 4 February is a superb display of the works of Russell Drysdale and Brett Whiteley. Featuring paintings, drawings, photographs and more this will cover a wide range from Drysdale’s studio at Bouddi Farm to Whiteley’s urban landscapes and people. Not to be missed.

Situated at East Gosford (36 Webb St) the gallery is open daily from 10am to 4pm and offers not only a superb gallery space but the Edogawa Commemorative Gardens and an adjacent cafe and gift shop. A pleasant drive on the M1 will get you there in about 35 minutes from Hornsby. There’s plenty of parking and easy, level access. A modest entry fee applies ($7.50/$5.00).

Further details of this and future exhibitions at Gosford can be found on the website: http://www.gosford.nsw.gov.au/galleries
